Hi, I'm Ujjwal.

Hi, I'm Ujjwal.

Mindfulness With Mandalas®

An immersive, multi-sensory, mindfulness workshop

that leverages mandala art as a powerful self-connection modality.

To be mindful is to simply
be with your mind, even when it is full.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of being intentional and present with whatever activity you’re engaged in, while having conscious awareness of your internal as well as external environment. It is the non-judgmental and unconditional acceptance of your present moment experience, without wanting or needing to change it, which allows you to respond to the moment rather than react to it.

Most of us live our lives on autopilot, unaware of the true nature and makings of our life experiences and unconscious of how we react

to them. Mindfulness is the ‘antidote to that autopilot life’ - it helps us connect with our present moment experience and detach from everything outside of that.

Emotional healing is not possible without a deep awareness of what needs to be healed, and gaining that awareness is not possible without deep, mindful presence. So mindfulness is the starting point, the stepping stone towards any emotional healing work!

Mandala Creation – A Form of Active Meditation

Meditation is arguably the most commonly known and spoken about methods of practicing mindfulness. It is widely recognized for its positive impact on our mind-body-soul connection, but at the same time it is also perceived as tedious and difficult by most people

for a variety of reasons.

In the modern world where human beings have become deeply afflicted by excessive brain-body stimulation, active meditation -

a form of meditation in which the mind is deeply engaged in an activity - is more practical and produces more effective results because it’s a lot more doable and repeatable for the average individual.

Mandala creation is one such form of active meditation, and research suggests that it leads the practitioner to a very similar state

of being, and results in similar benefits in the long run, as conventional meditation does!

This practice is the ideal intersection point between 'being' and 'doing' and it encourages you to engage with yourself and your environment with immense presence. It is a simple, creative way of practicing silence and stillness that easily enables you to witness your current moment experience with curiosity and openness - an essential step towards expanding awareness and experiencing

healing and growth!

Mindfulness with Mandalas®

Mindfulness with Mandalas® was born out of the inspiration to 'make mindfulness more mainstream' by promoting mandala creation as a fun, creative approach to practicing conscious presence and expanding mind-body awareness.

This workshop takes you beyond the artistic aspects of mandala creation and taps into the neuroscience and psychology behind

the practice instead - that was the main premise behind curating and designing it as a 'mindfulness workshop' rather than a typical 'mandala workshop'.

The intention is not to have you focus on the technicalities of

the art itself, rather to have you immerse yourself into the present moment during the process of creating it.

It’s not about producing a ‘perfect’ piece of art, rather about exploring your creative expression and reintroducing playfulness and self-exploration into your life to soothe your inner child

who has been longing for connection and expression.

It’s not about the quality of your end product or improving your artistic skills, rather about the quality of your presence and improving your mindfulness and somatic awareness skills.

And you get to do that not just by witnessing your current moment, but also by capturing your internal experience of it as part of my signature self-connection method - a live-journaling exercise

that combines a host of healing modalities into one powerful tool, which is the central, most impactful and most transformative element of this workshop!

Self-Connection Journal

The Self-Connection Journal is a powerful live-journaling tool that taps into different healing modalities and is packed with a variety of self-exploratory prompts that guide you to witness specific aspects of your inner experience and document them in real-time, as you're flowing through the process of creating your mandala!

It also has self-reflection prompts for some post-workshop reflection that help extract powerful insights from your experience that can significantly boost your self-awareness and open several new doors along your healing journey!

This journal serves as a ‘snapshot’ of your inner world from a specific point in time that you can refer back to anytime to recall your experience, reflect upon it, and discover new insights or perspectives you may have previously missed!

The short-term, immediate goal of this tool is to remind you to get present, get out of your head and into your body, and truly connect with yourself and your mind-body experience whenever you sit down to create a mandala.

The long-term goal is to help you...

  • Gain more self-awareness, emotional awareness and somatic awareness so you can live a more self-attuned and self-connected life

  • Re-establish a connection with your intuition and with the disconnected/fragmented parts of you that are constantly trying to communicate with you via your subconscious patterns

  • Get better at staying in your body and being present with your inner experience more often, regardless of what activity you're engaged in

Mindfulness, Somatic Awareness & Self-Connection Coaching

While mandala creation is a deeply self-exploratory practice - and similar to meditation each participant explores this activity in their own way and has their own unique experience of it - there is a crucial guided coaching component to this exercise as well that employs key somatic healing principles.

As you immerse yourself into the process of creation, I periodically check-in and lend support from the sidelines in the form of general reminders to guide you back to your inner experience, as well as specific prompts to help you witness and capture key aspects of it.

This guidance will help you stay present, aware and locked in to the mindfulness, somatic awareness and self-connection aspects of this immersive activity, while you allow your mind to run free and lose yourself in your creative self-expression and intuitive inner child play! And the intersection point between these two states is where you will have the opportunity to truly tap into your inner wisdom!

Your curiosity, creativity and freedom will connect you to your inner child and help tap into their purest states of joy and wonder,

while my guided prompts will help your inner adult explore and observe this inner experience and discover how connected or disconnected you are from your body and emotions.

In addition to this guided support during the mandala creation, another critical coaching element of this workshop is the hot seat style Q&A and feedback session post this activity, where I -

  • Help you unpack your experiences and derive valuable information from them

  • Ask questions and share insights that will not only guide you back towards your own inner wisdom but also encourage you to become curious about your mind-body experience in different ways

  • Share creative ideas on how you can incorporate this tool into your daily lives and extract the most value out of it

Overall, this coaching component is an immensely valuable aspect of the workshop because it not only holds a safe space for you

while you experience your inner world, but also helps you make sense of your experience and guides you on how to make the most of this powerful practice moving forward!

Being a part of Ujjwal's mandala workshop was an elevated, sensory experience! I found myself being transported to a dimension of comfort and safety and in my absolute element!

While adult me would probably think of 'drawing' as a challenge to make everything look perfect, my inner child approached it from a place of peace and play, and everything just seemed to flow (partly because of the calming meditation prior and the beautiful music during the session).  Before I knew it, it had been almost two hours and a (dare I say) beautiful mandala emerged!

Ujjwal's prompts were extremely gentle yet perceptive, which make you think inward and

bring you a sense of peace and release. The post-workshop reflection was also a really nice way

to 'measure' how I was feeling, and it helped me articulate my emotions.

I would sign up for another workshop in a heartbeat. It truly is the most fun my inner child

has had in a long time!

Types Of Workshops

Private 1:1

You get to experience this workshop in a 1:1 setting and have all of my attention focused on you! This private space allows you to share your workshop experience as openly and intimately as you'd like to - your state of mind, your emotions and how they feel in your body, your ability to connect with yourself, what comes up for you when you get into a deep state of silence and stillness - and in turn get

very specific feedback based on your experience.

[This is a great option for those who don't feel comfortable sharing such personal (and often vulnerable) experiences with a group

of strangers.]

Private Group / Community

You can hire me to conduct a session for your own private group or community. This could be your family or a group of friends who want to do this together, a small team you work or collaborate with, a social or professional community you’re part of, or a membership community you run and host events for. Regardless of the type of group, this session will not be marketed to the general public

and nobody outside of the people YOU invite will be allowed!

[This can be an amazing way to bond with partners/family/friends because everyone gets a glimpse into each others’ minds and gets to know and understand their ways of connecting with their bodies and experiencing their emotions. This can also be a fantastic team/community building activity for the same reason!]

Public Group

This is the most common type of workshop where I plan a session and market it online so it is open for anybody to sign up for and attend.

[This is a great option if you prefer doing this activity as part of a group so that you hear different perspectives and get to see different ways in which people experience the same activity.]

Corporate

I conduct these workshops for corporates as well. They're a great addition to corporate wellness initiatives and they offer a unique opportunity to understand and implement mindfulness as a key element within your company culture.
